LEADERSHIP IMPACT SERIES

Marketing management, campaign strategy and implementation, reporting and analysis.

“UNLOCKING POTENTIAL”

The Institute of Managers and Leaders presented the Leadership Impact Series in 2018, IML’s prestigious signature events that celebrated the history, importance and future of leadership and leaders who innovate, inspire and make an impact.

When you imagine the qualities of a great leader, you might imagine their warm smile, engaging voice or confident handshake.

But according to internationally acclaimed neuroscientist Dr Hannah Critchlow, you’d be better off thinking deeper. A lot deeper. The relationship between neuroscience and leadership is what Dr Critchlow discussed when she appeared at the Institute of Managers and Leaders’ (IML) Leadership Impact Series on Thursday 15 November at the National Museum of Australia.

Dr Hannah Critchlow dove into the minds of leadership professionals, using neuroscience to unravel the thinking behind our decision-making and behaviour to help us get the most out of leadership. She posed questions; How are our minds unique? Are our actions predetermined and to what extent can we change? How do our perceptions of the world affect our decision-making? How does fear and stress affect our behaviour? How can neuroscience help promote creativity and problem solving? What can we do to refine our focus and attention?
